Growing Issues

If the forecast is right, today was the last of the sunny and warm summer days in October. (Extra: The same temperature outside and inside the house this afternoon)
So I started to take the least hardy of our house plants in, which had spent the long summer on the patio.

Some needed pruning, some needed re-potting, some have grown unevenly, but all have grown a lot. Here you see a tamarind and an avocado, which have now reached the ceiling.

They are also quite heavy, and because of P's back problem, I did all the lifting and carrying on my own, and barely managed it.

I guess I need to get fitter. Or get help. Or get rid of some plants - a pity, since I grew most of them from seeds, many years ago. But turning the house into a dark, green jungle every winter doesn't seem a great idea either.
