More murk

It continues! Torrential rain in the night followed by more of the same this morning plus thick fog. It's book club here tonight and messages were flying hither and thither as to whether a trek out to the Sheep's Head was feasible. Things have improved somewhat so it's on. A tidy up has ensued, a fire lit just in case (it's oddly cold and damp in the house though clammy out), the wine is open and we're good to go. We are discussing the Living Mountain by Nan Shepherd though, rather controversially, have been invited to listen to it as an audio book . I've struggled. I only listen to things when I'm ill and when I'm not am finding it very hard to get engaged. I realise: I miss seeing the words; I like physically holding a book; I want to be being able to stop and digest or reread; and I only read fiction in bed (non-fiction is acceptable downstairs during daylight hours!) and I do not want to have a laptop up there. It will be interesting to see how others have fared.
