THE OLD PEAR TREE

This tree gives such pleasure at in Autumn and Spring. The fruit is nothing special being hard and woody, so occasionally I may stew some. I am told that the old people used to roast the pears with their Sunday leg of lamb. I do not know if these are Saffron pears but I like to think that they are, as I like the name!
