The long way round

Walking to the bus to get to Oxfam.  This way takes longer but is really worth it. Trying to bus/walk wherever possible, and drive even less. I used to walk along here most work mornings for 20 years to get to work, and I find it a special place.
The top left is looking back towards Totterdown from the riverside path. My house is up there somewhere. Then travellers joy and yarrow, and finally, you can just about see the river and the muddy bank through the rose hips.
This morning I went to my GP to get the results of the latest scans and tests. I had been very worried, as when I went in on Monday to ask at reception she said ‘ no I can’t give you your results, you have to see the doctor urgently’. But then couldn’t give me an appointment, not even for a phone call, for 48 hours. It turns out I haven’t got the two really really bad things he was testing for.  But I certainly have got something - so, further tests soon. I have to say it is fantastically quick in Bristol to get these tests, if there is concern. And he was very kind to me.  He explained even if I do have the bad thing they’re checking for now, it would be easily treated, because it would be caught so early. I have to say 48 hours of being really scared about a  life maybe shorter than I assumed   was in a way good for me - as it really was a lesson in what’s really important to me. Apologies for maybe oversharing but this is now where I put things to remember.
