He's Back

The giant, that is, now sitting proudly outside the town hall in Bergues. We didn't see him when we were here in the spring & when we've seen him in previous years he's been sitting on the other side of the square. He was apparently constructed in 1913 to commemorate Lamartine, the poet & politician who represented the town at one stage.

Anyway, this is our last stopover, Le Shuttle tomorrow morning.
