The North Queensland Tropical Rainforest

Yet another cable car ride. This one was higher than the other 3 we've been on. Up to the Skywalk and a ranger chat about the trees, plants and animals.

Apparently, Bob the huge python was somewhere very near and hungry as he had stung a possum with his venom and confused it into thinking day was night!
Thankfully, we saw neither. We did see a cookuburra, a big blue butterfly, a rainforest turkey, and another different big white bird. No crocs, Possums, Snakes, or Lizards.

After the rainforest, we visited the town of Kuranga for a wander and a trip on their vintage railway. They had a clever train related playlist on - how many train songs can you name?

I heard an Indian couple behind listening to the commentary and comment that the train was just like home, only less crowded. That made me smile. Most of the carriages were over 100 years old. By gum they were built to last. The stories of how the railway was used, to access the forests for timber, to build the tracks, to convey people at the time of a goldrush, and for many reasons during WWII. If you could have seen this railway, perched high up on a hill, hugging the contours of the mountain. I gasped a few times.
