Elford Walled Garden

We had a lot of rain yesterday, but the area about ten miles away, near Tamworth, must have had lots more. 

The River Tame, which runs through the walled garden, was rising still and had already spilled over the bank near the Boat House. Work has continued in the nearby fields and the machinery finished the job quickly.

The two guys standing in the foreground, had canoed from Hopwas and said that it had taken less than half the usual time, as the river was flowing so fast. 

Swans were playing, and a family had brought a young lad who had an amazing time in the new little pool.

As you can see, the light was special and it was a lovely place to be.
