Between fen and mountains

Barely a trickle

It is difficult to believe, looking at the river today, that it could have swept away several large hotels in the great flood of 1940. We could certainly do with some rain and some is forecast for the week ahead. However, each time rain is forecast, it never seems to arrive. That seems to have been the pattern of this summer and autumn anyway. This morning I bought some fish at the market and did some packing ready for the UK bellringing trip. I decided to have a quiet day after a busy one yesterday and managed to fall asleep briefly before and after lunch!  The mussels and fresh dates were well worth waking up for! I need to keep some energy in reserve for a match against Cabestany tomorrow.
