Past memories

These rock tombs in southern Turkey must surely qualify for Derelict Sunday challenge. They are over 3,000 years old. 
 
I am grateful to M for this photo taken in the Lycia region. He took it while on an archaeological tour of the area.
 
We have just come back from seeing the Michael Caine film “The Great Escaper” based on the true story of a veteran 89 year old who escaped from his nursing home to attend 70th anniversary commemoration of D-Day landings in Normandy.
 
It’s a melancholic film all the more poignant for being true.
