A visit to Storm King Art Center
This wonderful, huge field of sculpture is out in the middle of New York State, about two hours from Manhattan. I’ve been before, and my main reason for returning this time was to see the new Martin Puryear brick sculpture, which is featured in all three extras. The Puryear was lovely, but I can’t resist using this terrific Richard Serra Menashe Kadishmanar as the main blip. (Belated correction: it’s NOT a Richard Serra after all! My mistake. But still a great sculpture.)
The whole trip was a good, helpful break from our current reality, in all its gruesome forms.
