Over the top
Or should that be under the bottom?
This was the least subtle exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum’s exhibition Diva which I have to say was excellent. Hi tech headphones could tell exactly where you were and would automatically start narrating or giving you appropriate sounds, so if you stood in front of the Whitney Houston section you had her belting out her stuff, and as you approached the film of Marlene Dietrich you could see and hear her strutting at her bisexual best. It was a bit contrived and stretched my understanding of the word but that didn’t really matter. Apart from Elton John and Prince it was an almost entirely female glass ceiling busting, me-too confronting, power woman celebrating tribute to "the gentler sex" not being gentle but just being themselves.
We managed a coffee in the sunshine in South Ken and grabbed a wrap and a bag of crisps in the V&A garden cafe. Got home before dark when it got cold again.
Excellent day. Album here
