Shaking hands with a legend
Tonight I had the absolute pleasure of spending the evening in the company of a living legend. Along with a few hundred mere mortals.
John McGuinness my not be a household name, you're unlikely to see him at glitzy awards ceremonies, he doesn't have a multi-million dollar endorsement deal with Nike or Adidas and he will not win BBC sports personality of the year.
John races motorcycles at the Isle of Man TT which makes him, in my book, just about the bravest man on the planet.
He's a bit good at it too.
Just last week he won his 20th TT race, making him the second most successful rider in its 109 year history behind the late, great Joey Dunlop.
He's also the fastest man ever around the 38mile Mountain Course, holding the outright lap record.
Despite all of this, he's the most normal bloke you could ever meet.
He describes himself as a fat brickie from Morecambe.
To us, he's the King of the Mountain.
