Gylen Castle

Another sunny day, another island. This time, Kerrera.  A lot of folk were on the ferry, and I rather feared it was going to turn into a procession around the island. However, the people soon dispersed, and we had a lovely solitary walk. The beach below the castle made a fine picnic spot.

The castle, built by the Clan MacDougall, was completed in 1582 but was captured and burnt by a Covenanter army in 1647.
