Downham
We fancied a wee trip out today so we drove to Downham a small village in Lancashire. The village has a conservation order on it and the inhabitants are not allowed to have aerials or satellite dishes on the exterior of their houses nor are they allowed double glazing. There are no shops there just a post office and a pub. We had a wander round and went in the visitor centre. Where in a lovely old barn there was information and also equipment for bicycle repairs and pumping up tyres. (Extra POG ;-)
The main Blip shows Pendle Hill shrouded by clouds - the sun came out later.
After that we went to Clitheroe for some lunch. The first cafe we went in was a bit messy as it turned out it was for parents and children and they run creative mornings. We didn’t like to walk out again so we stayed and had baked potatoes, beans and salad and they catered for vegans. In the end it didn’t matter to us that there was stuff everywhere, spillages from the kids and wobbly tables - it was such a nice friendly place and Bella liked it too.
When we got home my new hiking boots arrived, I’ll Blip them tomorrow.
We watched a good film over last night and tonight - Woman in Gold with Helen Mirren. It was really good.
Goodnight :-) X
