Airbnb= A Working Dairy Farm
The schools are all on their half-term holidays this week and thus several activities my parents are involved in aren't running. So my parents decided we could go on holiday. So they booked an Airbnb in the town of Klimmen, in the province of Limburg. It is the southernmost of the Dutch provinces and has two international borders, Germany to the east and Belgium to the southwest.
We popped past a pancake house in Valkenburg to get typical Dutch pancakes for a late lunch. Little Man has decided that he enjoyed pancakes and ended up eating an entire mini-pancake by himself. I'd left his bib and his drink in the car, so went back to get it. As I walked out the car park I saw the two stumbling stones (see the extra). They can be found all across the Netherlands and Europe in commemoration of the Jews who lost their lives during the Holocaust. They can be found on the street outside where each person lived. May their memories never be forgotten.
We're staying on a beautiful, working dairy farm, pictured here. So the smell of cows greeted us the moment we got out of the car. The guest wing is gorgeous! It's in part of the main farmhouse with its own separate entrance. There's two bedrooms (sadly without central heating) and a bathroom upstairs. Then downstairs there's a lounge, a kitchen and a little utility room. If you're in the Netherlands and looking for somewhere to stay, do check out this place (the link is here)!
