A new addition to the family
A challenging day. B had a second appointment in Derby for a biopsy and had to be there for 9am. As we are not yet familiar with the route and it being rush hour, the journey took an hour instead of 40 minutes. The procedure only took about 15 minutes and we were home by 11am.
We had the opportunity to find out details of the blip posted on the 8th October. The picture is of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester visiting Derby Royal Infirmary in 1936. She was born in 1901 and died 2004. So I take it that she was the lady on the left, with the flowers. No idea who the elderly lady in the centre of the picture was.
There was a plant stall in the hospital corridor as we arrived and I took a fancy to this cute arrangement. We had no idea how long we would be waiting, so I bought and it left it with the stall holder until we came to leave. It was just as well as they had sold out by then. The pot looks cracked, but it isn’t, it’s part of the design.
I worked in the garden after lunch, until it started to rain.
B will have a follow up appointment in about 6 weeks and we are considering going by train, as the station isn’t very far from the hospital.
