Irises

Today we had a visit from EQC ,(the earthquake commission). When our house was repaired in 2012 after the 2011 earthquakes it now turns out that the repair job on our upper deck was not carried out properly. We now have cracks, holes, rotten wood and severe leaking every time that it rains. It will have to be completely rebuilt. I am told that the cost will be $20,000  - $50,000 depending on what is found. Luckily we should not have to pay for this. Thousands of similar jobs were done wrongly and there is a move afoot to right all of the errors. This afternoon I went to Lisa's to take Hadley to cricket practice. I spied the white irises in her front garden.
