Wearable Art

Today's the day ........................ to drop in

As soon as I saw the title of this October Holiday Workshop  at the Kirkcudbright Galleries, namely 'Wearable Art' - I knew it would be right up Tessa's street.

The idea was to drop in, any time between 10 am and 12 noon to 'create your own unique work of wearable art, inspired by artist Jessie M. King.  Find out more how Jessie expressed her creativity through her hand-crafted, brightly-coloured clothing and accessories and create your own decorated jacket to wear home.'

And this is Tessa in the middle of creating hers.  It involved using a paper pattern to cut out the pieces - and then assembling into the jacket. There were lots of different ways you could decorate the outside.  Tessa's one had a pocket (with a 'T' on it) and then a drawn in flower - and lots more by the end.  Each one was indeed unique and all the children had lots of fun.  There's a bit of Josie's one in extras.

A great way to spend a wet morning - and all free of charge ....................
