The Thing About Today

Regular walk to work, and a view of my favourite church. However, what a regular day this was NOT. A 3-hour board meeting at the Yerwood Center which included a wonderful introduction to the granddaughter of Dr. Yerwood, the founder of the center (1937). Joyce gave us a history of her grandmother, which had us all tearful. She was a remarkable woman and her dream of children having a better chance in life came true, thanks to her efforts. We all strive to uphold her legacy.

After the meeting I had to go to Seaside Tavern to play a set. Some of the board members came along. Nothing like pressure!

It was fun. Not only did I sing my set of 3 songs, but did backing vocals on Richard's wonderful song 'The Thing About Leaving', as well as get back up on stage to do three more songs.
