Day 3. Victoria
Had a tour of parts of victoria we knew nothing about, Cathy ( former blipper Islandcat from the island) lives in the newly developed Railyards area….off the galloping goose bike/ walking trail. And on the Gorge water way to victoria harbor across from the rowing and dragon boats clubs. Very fun to see her new(ish ) place so had to blip it. We had a good visit to the Victoria art gallery with 2 fine exhibits…. Sophie Pemberton , an unknown contemporary of Emily Carr, and a fascinating art/science exhibit, Symbiosis . Then this afternoon we took the Coho ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles o the Olympic peninsula in the US. it’s not nearly as nice as the Nanaimo ferry 2 days ago, and there’s customs on both sides, but it was a beautiful calm trip on the straits of Juan de Fuca. Even saw a whale . No rain.
A few in the extra collage including the inner harbor with the Empress Hotel with the marina at its foot where we have stayed with our sailboat in the past. Nice dinner in Port Angeles .
It’s on the map now .. not exact, but close .
