Peek two

It was the funniest thing and took place in the blink of an eye.
He /she had taken a large Brasil nut from me.
At that moment, a large scary rook / crow flew in and sat on a nearby branch.

Squirrel disappeared up the tree then it peeked around it
(to see if I'd scarpered too?)
