Take a photo before you declutter

I'm doing some clearing out of clutter treasures. It really has to be done and in some cases should have been done many moons ago. We have had this object for decades, provenance unknown. Did  it belong to Cameraman's grandfather or his Great Aunt Maud? One or the other but no-one is sure. It's never sparked joy for me and has been hidden at the back of a shelf all these years. Why on earth is it so hard to give it to the Shelter shop I wonder. It was once someone's prized ornament (or was it?). Maybe someone else will love it. At least I now have an image of it. 

The storm is doing a bit of damage here but it isn't too bad. There has been loss of life elsewhere though and major disruption. We were supposed to be walking in Glen Finglas with friends today but have postponed that. We'll see them anyway but only for a cup of tea. No point  being reckless in these conditions.
