Sgòrr Dhearg & Sgòrr Dhònuill

Given the truly atrocious weather conditions on the East Coast, I had to make some significant changes to my planned walk today ...

... basically; I tried to keep as far West as feasible, leaving home at a very early hour, and thus allowing me to take-in a couple of Munros that I hadn't completed before! So, I headed up to Ballachulish and the Beinn a'Bheithir ridge, which leads to Sgòrr Dhearg and Sgòrr Dhònuill :-)

The weather was actually relatively okay for the first ascent up to Sgòrr Dhearg - the main snap shows the view looking back towards Ballachulish, with the prominent Pap of Glencoe on the far right. But things deteriorated pretty rapidly once I was up on the ridge - very windy and somewhat wet, so I didn't hang around and made a fairly rapid descent off of Sgòrr Dhònuill , down to the shelter of the forest-track, which eventually took me back round to my start-point.

I subsequently had an extremely wet drive back to Edinburgh - but made more bearable by a very enjoyable early dinner-stop at the Real Food Cafe, in Tyndrum :-)

Quite the day.
