Goodbye Isle of Wight...

...hello M1...

We've had such a lovely week - and the morning was sunny as we said goodbye to Freshwater Bay. Made an earlier ferry than the one we booked, and had a calm crossing to Southampton. 

The first couple of hours of the journey went well, but the A43 was super busy, and the rain started as we hit the M1... And it continued raining all the way home. 

Appalling conditions, and the reduced speed limits became aspirational rather than achievable! At one point we thought the 87 miles to Sheffield might take 4 hours ;(

Anyway - despite being probably the worst journey we've ever done, it wasn't that bad in the end, and we're now safely home and about to enjoy a meal!
