Twice Born

After quick call with VickyG we had our porridge then headed down to town. The wind and rain had really picked up since yesterday and we decided being in town was probably the best plan for the day. We browsed along Rose St and George St, looking in lots of jewellery shops and talking about different cuts of stones, antique vs contemporary styles, and different designs of pearl earrings.
We had an early lunch at Chez Jules…delicious moules frites and chocolate mousse…talking about ADHD and the pros and cons of diagnosis, house hunting and (potential) grandchildren.
On from there to the St James centre for a further wander. Found my favourite Chanel perfume (Cristalle) is finally back in stock having had a change of bottle shape, so I bought some having been out of it for more than a year.
Home and decided to slump awhile with a cup of tea. We thought we’d watch a nonsense film but had it somewhat disrupted by chanting outside the nearby police station….turns out it was a displaced protest supporting Palestine that was mobbing and shouting outside the police station to get the release of one of their number who had been arrested.
Met LE in Soi38 for some Thai food before the ballet. Yet another stressful week for her and her team…and we talked about impact of various big changes currently underway. The ballet was fabulous…Scottish Ballet totally on fire with two very contrasting pieces. The first was a Fosse inspired short piece that was funny in parts, full of quirky moments and movements, and with very upbeat music. The second piece was more elemental and took us through a vast range of emotions as we saw what seemed to be a ritual death, a resurrection, crashing rocks, a storm and a flying dancer. Can’t really describe it but fabulous…..!
