The River Soar.

The river burst its banks down in the bottom of the village, as it does regularly when there's been lots of rain, so yesterday's torrent made it inevitable. 

Popped by on my way back from town on the bike to take a look and this youngster was there on the phone to their pal who was apparently trying to walk from the next village! The youngster's pal arrived a bit later having hitched a lift on a tele-handler! Got to admire their ingenuity, though not sure how they'll get home!

Can't say I admired 'ingenuity' of the motorists though, who apparently read 'Road Closed Flood' and then can't correlate that information with yesterday's weather. There was a constant stream of them turning round.
