Saturday
Didn't do badly for sleep last night despite not slipping away to bed until after midnight, and assisted by an alarm was up and about early too.
After some breakfast and caffeination a bimble was had to J&S in Manchester, the cool autumn air clearing the morning brain fuzz.
Purpose of the visit was to purchase an anti-fogging insert for my helmet visor that works like double glazing according to Ms.Arell. The sales assistant kindly fitted it for me and "Yay!", on the ride away from J&S the difference was immediately noticeable, although I have yet to find out whether it reduces the din from nearby helicopters (thank you Ted Moult & thank you brain)
En-route home I called at a friends for a cuppa before swapping 2 wheels for 4, driving to Dove Stones for a stroll with youngest dahling and the doggo. We only walked around the main reservoir this time but it was very enjoyable and Shadow was well behaved amongst the other terriers. Am hoping the fresh air will have knocked me out again tonight ^_^
The Blip is of Yeoman Reservoir - the circuitous path around Dovestones Reservoir takes us across its Dam. Had we took in a walk around Yeomans also, we would have reached Greenfield Reservoir, and a scramble up Greenfield Brook would lead onto Saddleworth Moor past an often photographed rock feature known as The Trinnacle.
A circular route can be made from there across moorland to Chew Reservoir, from where an access road makes an easy descent back down to Dovestones, all subject matter for future Blippage maybe.
The extra is looking across Dovestones Reservoir, it's overflow making quite a racket in the foreground.
