A plague on both your houses
Well, both of my yards anyway. Greenfly descended on the village today in their millions. Don't know what was going on. I have heard that swarming greenfly foretell a hot hot summer. Mainly what they foretold today was me racing around trying to squash as many as possible before they sucked the life out of all my carefully nurtured plants.
This one got away from me, but was caught by the sweeper. Well, a spider anyway. The presence of so many busy spiders is stopping me from just drenching the garden in something organic but deadly (like a soap and garlic mix I read about). Tomorrow I'll go out again and squash another thousand or so and see if we need to bring in the big guns. I nearly bought some baby ladybirds earlier in the year and only didn't because it felt cruel (?) to give them such a small garden with hardly any pests. What do I know.
Sadly I have no big hairy nut follow up on last night's blip: I have failed to open the nut and test it's innards on my innards. Nut testing now postponed until Thursday, when Mr B will be away again.
