An Evening With

Started the day with a trip to the farm butchers, followed by a F1 style walk through covid booster and Flu jabs. I had had a bit of shaky time in the morning but managed to potter about in the garden and workshop mid afternoon. Had got tickets for an evening performance at the Arts Centre, ended up going on my own (Mrs A S dropped me there and collected me) as my longtime gigging mate was unable to attend last minute.
The evening was a mixture of music and memories of the career of Martin Carthy assisted by Jon Wilks. Wilks is a musician and writer editor and podcaster. Carthy a superb musician and song write who was in the mix during the 60's folk revival. He played with Steeleye Span, The Watersons, Albion Band and many more. Dueted with the great violinist Dave Swarbeck and laterally with his daughter Eliza Carthy.
For me it was a great trip down memory lane and scraps and shoulder rubbing in the lower levels of the folk scene. It was also abit of a reality check that time is taking its toll on all of us. But would not have missed it for the world. Extra Jon Wilks preforming "Greek Street".
Take care out there one and all.
