Babet and fizz

Storm Babet has been busy in the East. The rain was unrelenting all day. A wet trip to Ely, through several stretches that were already flooded. A wet trip to the Cathedral and back for the mid-term service. Lovely music. Full-day and ended with a soggy Race for Life event involving all the students. Set off for home and it was slow but steady going. Decided to go a different way home to avoid flooding, and ended up in a stretch where a field was overflowing and running downhill like a river before pouring off into another field lower down - plenty of topsoil being eroded. Glad to make it home, and my wife and son arrived shortly after. Watched the local news, with roads closed and other problems - main road to Norwich shut etc. Traditional bottle of fizz to celebrate another half term completed.
