Hungry birds

I went over to RSPB Middleton Lakes quite early and aimed to go for a walk to the canal and the first lakes. No chance. It was a bit slippery underfoot but both the woodland route and the other way were really quite flooded. I had good shoes but not wellies so I went back.

The feeders by the heronry were really busy, and not just full of sparrows and tits. Quite a variety here…..
