Clapham and beyond

And so Finally, the holiday break we had booked for October 17th LAST year has happened. When we had to postpone it in 2022 we didnt dare believe Fletch would be still with us but he is!
The weather today has been just right, no wind and not too hot to walk in.
We couldnt stop at our usual place, the 'split road' to walk in the nature reserve as the road was closed due to road works. So, we carried on to Clapham (Yorkshire) which is an hour and a quarter from home. It's a lovely little village, quite unspoilt and we paid to walk so far up the Nature  walk. It was a lot quieter than last time we were there ( then it was a Bank holiday!)
We stopped in the Old Sawmill cafe which was very pleasant.  The cakes looked delicious but I ended up getting a bacon buttie.. holiday treat.

Then on to Austwick, less than 2 miles away.
The staff are as friendly as always and it was good to be back. A quick unpack of the car and a walk round the village. Fletch still raring to go!

The weather forecast is for windy but so far, no rain.
Blip is the old footbridge in Clapham
