Forth
Woke to beautiful sunshine after another good sleep…I’ve had a run of solid nights’ sleep recently. A came round after dropping her neighbour at the big 10k race in town today…she brought us cinnamon buns for breakfast - delicious!! We chatted about her current DIY projects (wardrobes), vegan food planning for her visitors this week, mushroom growing and what we’ve been doing. Sa’s train was cancelled yesterday and her replacement one today is also cancelled (Derbyshire seems worse hit by the storm than up here), so we shifted beds around as L&M and two of their kids are coming to stay tonight on their way to Thurso. Once A had gone we packed up and set off to South Queensferry for an explore in the sunshine. Walked from one end of the village to the other, stopping to gather some sea glass and for some delicious seafood chowder for lunch overlooking the bridges.
Home via Modern Art gallery (although we weren’t very taken by the Alberta Whittle exhibition). I made a burnt Basque cheesecake for supper to follow steak pie that I made the filling for yesterday, whilst Sa began making some beach art collages (extra), then we played Scrabble (I won after a shaky start!…extra).
Made the dinner and we’re now waiting for the Cs to arrive…..
