Cinque Terre Sunday

Today was another nice day in Cinque Terre. However, out of an abundance of caution, CT Parks are keeping their trails closed for at least another day.
Plan B- buy a train pass, do a non-park hike, and then tour the towns we haven’t seen or want to see again.

We went to Manarola first and caught a bus up to the tiny hill town of Volastra. From there we walked on centuries old terraces through steep hillside vines to the middle CT town, Cornelia far below.
After cappuccino and lunch there, we hopped the train to a couple of other towns until we were too beat to do more. Have I mentioned it is very hilly here?
That is why these ladies are grabbing a last bit of rest before a long day of walking.
Two hikers planning what I am gong to be doing today…lol

Extra 1- Manarola (evening shot because the morning sun was in our eyes.) The view from the top with Volastra on the left and Manarola far below on the right. The trail along a narrow terrace. And a peek a boo view of Cornelia below.

Extra 2 - Last look at lovely towns.
Manarola- all fishing boats ashore. Too rough…
Cornelia- very narrow streets and lanes.
Vernazza- Sunday seems to be laundry day.
