Window Into A World

I managed to get along to the Edinburgh College of Art Degree Show this afternoon, with my arty seven year-old for company.

It's a great show this year - lots of variety and very creative. A highlight for me is always talking to the artists about their work, their college experience and their plans for the future.

It takes me back. I hanker for the art college culture again whenever I visit a degree show. It'll wear off soon enough - although I'm in two minds about whether or not I want it to.

It's great seeing the exhibition through a child's eyes. And it's good for her too. I can't help wondering if she'll be turning up here in ten years' time with a portfolio... Maybe then I can re-live the art school experience through her journey just like my dad did through mine?
