Point of Ayr Lighthouse
SUNDAY
I nipped over to M&S in Prestatyn to do some shopping and made a slight detour to Talacre to photograph the unused and allegedly haunted Point of Ayr lighthouse.
A pleasant warm and sunny afternoon after a couple of days of continuous rain. Dozens of people were out on the beach with a handful in bathing attire.
On the way home, I stopped off near Rhuddlan Castle (see extra). At this point, the level of the River Clwyd is influenced by run off from the land and also the tides. On Saturday, due to rising water levels, seven hundred sheep had to be quickly moved from the fields at the side of the river. To move them by trailer would have taken six hours so the farmer decided to herd them over the bridge and through the town to safety.
