Leaving Sicily

We left Sicily this afternoon on a flight from Catania to Rome, with good views of Mt Etna during and soon after takeoff. Wikipedia says that Etna is a very active volcano, the highest mountain in Italy south of the Alps. Its height is given as 3,357 metres, although that’s somewhat variable depending on current volcanic activity - in an eruption in 2021 the mountain’s height increased by 30m.
