Creels on The Beach

Geordie and I drove along to St Monans for our walk this morning in beautiful sunshine.
We walked down the West Pier where we met a visiting German couple. We shared our pictures of the stormy seas and had a good chat about the storm damage.
Afterwards we walked around the harbour and onto the tiny beach, it’s about 50 metres at the most, where I counted 37 creels. There were many more tangled amongst piles of seaweed. The ones in the shot were in fairly decent condition, but I’ve no idea if they can be used again, or who would lay claim to them. I imagine there will be creels scattered all along the coast here.
We walked around to the church then and took more photos, then back to the car and home.
We weren’t long home when Gary came round to have a look at the fence. He commented that it was strange that a strong, hit and miss fence that the wind should have got through should have blown down, so we went around to my neighbour’s garden to check out the other side. It turns out that the man had covered up the gaps on the other side with wood panels, which of course made it a solid barrier to the wind! I was angry! But no way to vent it as he died over two years ago!
The bungalow is still sitting empty unfortunately.
Then it was time to pick Maggie up from school and it’s been non-stop since. She’s done more of her paint by numbers, fed the birds, helped me make our meal, and will soon be bedtime, for both of us.
