Scruff bag Blue Tit

This scruffy little blighter was sitting on my fence this morning.

My relationship with the garden birds is a little strained right now, to be honest. I feed them - fat balls, mixed seed, peanuts - and in return they peck the leaves of my lettuces and beetroot to pieces. I am struggling to see the fairness in this arrangement. Furthermore, once my strawberries and blueberries come through, I can guarantee that they will be feasting on them also.

Is this the end of a beautiful relationship?
