Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum
We had a great day in the garden! Our helper dug out the old raspberry plants, removed all the soil from the raised bed and disassembled the rotting frame. In the meantime I sifted a wheelbarrow’s worth of that dirt to get rid of pebbles and weeds, and it went into the garlic bed to freshen things up. We now have a big empty area where the raspberry bed was, and the possibilities are endless—a small tree, an herb bed, a flower bed, oh my. But the best part was the planting of several varieties of fava beans!! I didn’t know they came in varieties—we’ve always just had generic favas. The gardener brought three heirloom packets and into the ground they went. We’ll see how long it takes before they reach the sky.
And yes, I’m pretty tired right now, but it was really fun being out there.
