Holly Berries

Last week we made a rather large ‘investment’ decision for our house - we are having windows and external doors throughout to replace the aged wooden doors and window frames and the pitiful ‘double glazing’… a large number of the glass units have ‘blown’ and presumably no longer function as insulators -  the wooden windows are now badly fitting and rotting in a few places…rather than spending money on trying to repair the existing ones we have opted to replace the lot with some new ones. Today the surveyor came to check the measurements taken last week and to check the structural integrity of the ‘apertures’ and access to the upstairs windows from the front. Hopefully we should get them just in time for Christmas.

We are expecting our fuel usage to fall dramatically - on top of the 27% reduction in gas consumption since the new boiler was fitted a year ago.

So after the order contract was signed (eek), I had to get out for some fresh air - and spotted these wonderful bright holly berries alongside the footpath.
