The King’s Pine

It was excellent walking weather today, not too hot, but not chilly either. It was a relatively short walk, only 8 kilometres and 450 metres of climbing. We saw bits of industrial heritage as well as the remote hamlet of Llugols and we returned by the famous isolated pine tree that can be seen on the ridge from across the valley. It is called the King’s pine as the village above which it stands, is reputed to be the cradle of Catalonia, where its first king was born. I was back just after two and a friend persuaded me to go down to the courts for an hour or so.
