Edenkillie Kirk
Edenkillie Kirk, surrounded by the golden October blaze of mature beech trees.
The extra is all that remains of a probably 18th century table stone decorated with symbols of mortality - a coffin. crossed long bones and the 'deid' bell which was rung to announce a death and sometimes left on the grave for a short period to ward off the devil. The winged hour glass is a reminder that our time on earth passes quickly -tempus fugit - time flies.
