Community mailboxes

Ours is on the left, one of the older ones. New ones have been put in place in some places, and the one on the right is one of those. It's not too far from us. Not sure if ours will be replaced. It's the one we've been using for just over 30 years.
I made a lentil shepherd's pie for supper this morning before I went for a short walk. Bloody cold, so it is! More rain and wind overnight, but it's been sunny today, so I waited for it to warm up a bit before going for a walk. I raked up the leaves and unripe figs, something I've been doing every day to keep up with them. G went to drop off the garbage and saw snow on the tops of the local 'mountains'. The two closest 'mountains' to us are 580 metres and 600 metres, not very high compared to mountains where we've hiked and skied. A bit early for snow on them though, and the temperatures are dropping close to 0 C at night. Might have a frosty blip soon!
