Nightmare on...
..Centre Street!
They're back! The inflatables have landed.... again! Some old familiar faces..and some new ones as well...(extra is removed). It's like old home week! Let the fun begin.
Everywhere you look...sheets hanging from trees, skeletons lurking in the shrubbery, grave stones littering the lawns, big spider webs draped over entryways, and pumpkins with scary faces glaring at passersby. Fun wow...
With all the old gang back, it's hard not to get into the mood. I made a special trip out today to stock up on candy bars...dug out my fluorescent skeleton apron..and even considered buying a real pumpkin to make a Jack o'Lantern for the first time in decades...("considered" being the operative word)
I learned at History in the Park last week that the museum down the street offers a Ghost Walk around our neighbourhood to celebrate the season and I thought that might be fun....especially as the big house behind me is reputed to have a real ghost! Apparently she has been seen on several occasions looking out the window on the second floor that overlooks my garden - no, not looking at my garden (!) but over my garden toward the lake, longingly awaiting the return of her husband's ship....which is just a tad creepy..I think going on that walk might not be a good idea. If there are other ghosts hanging out in our neighbourhood, I would rather not know...Sheets hangings from trees is one thing..actual ghosts is another!
Inflatable Frankensteins, plastic skeletons, gauzy witches and scary pumpkins? No problem! Welcome back!
