Watched pots...

...never boil.

We have been waiting for several days for a part for our stove, which suddenly stopped working last Thursday and which provides our central heating and hot water too. 

We are used to the idea that post to Glendaruel and Colitnravie always takes a day more than to anywhere else but it is still frustrating that such an urgent parcel took three days to get here even though it was meant to be a "special delivery". 

I remember  Archie McNaughton showing me a letter he had inherited  (presumably destroyed by the fire at Ardachuple in 2018 )  which gave notice of a funeral at Kilfinan by Loch Fyne in the very early years of the 20th century.   It was posted there in the morning and delivered  to the Glen by lunchtime the same day.
