Rain, Flood and Play!
Woke up this morning to the sun shining so bright!!! It was particularly humid as well. Typical Philippine weather.. Mr Mcame round and we went to the supermarket/mall a stone's throw away from my mum's place to buy some Filipino stuff to bring back to UK.
We then had lunch and I have to comment on some people who are done eating for an hour, yet won't get up to let other people eat! Are they going to order some more? Nope! They're just sitting there chatting.. Where has graciousness and hospitality gone to?! And if you hint at them, they'll even look at you like you're being rude or something! Aaaaarrgghhh!!! Right, that's my rant for the day..
Afternoon, we went to Cartimar, a 'bazaar-of-sorts' area where one can buy cheap shoes and pets! Haha! I know, the combination is a bit off! Anyway, while on the way there, it started raining, as in pouring down like there's no tomorrow! Feels like you're standing underneath your personal water falls! We got there after about an hour on the road.. While Mr M was looking around for the right trainers, I looked outside and saw water starting to rise, flood water! And typical of children here, they started taking a bath and playing in flood water -- swimming and wading ain s if they were by the seaside, happy times! I remember doing my fair share of rain-bath, but no wading in floods!, when I was their age..
Mr M ended buying us some slippers as well as we knew we had no choice but to wade in flood on our way home. We took the train, but when we got off, water has risen to thigh high! And the rain only occured for about 3 hours! Instead of feeling surly about it, it was quite surreal! Students finishing the day's class at 5pm to come out to flood water! The last time I waded in flood water here was 2002 on my way home from night duty! Quite adventurous I should say! Although afterwards, traffic was horrendous, as expected! And what did everyone say about it? More fun in the Philippines! that's the Pinoy spirit!
Hugs and kisses to everyone!
