A magic day
We waited until lunchtime for the rain to stop before heading over to Ashbourne to the Framery with the pictures, having checked that they were open first.
We took Amber with us for a change of scenery and some socialisation. When we got there we were all welcomed in to the gallery. There was another lady there who had an embroidery to be framed.
This place was ticking more boxes than expected and we quickly chose the requirements needed for the Jaguar jet picture. We had a second picture to frame which was still rolled up in a cardboard tube and has never been framed before. I’ve put a picture in extras of our choice of mount and frame.
Another lady arrived whilst we were choosing, she had a cross stitch picture of cow, a magnificent beast.
All of this activity generated considerable chat about cross stitch, tapestry, patchwork, etc. The two ladies, one of whom works in the shop and the other is her friend T, moved to the area 4 years ago. We were sharing notes about what crafts we did and where we did it. T used to do patchwork but hasn’t found a group to join since she moved.
Well to cut a long story short, she is going to come round for coffee and we can share patterns and ideas.
We saw a little bit of Ashbourne, looks interesting and has some useful looking shops. But went to the farm shop and cafe that we visited last Monday for coffee. We went round the back to the outdoor area with Amber. She had a chance to say hello to today’s cows, she wasn’t impressed or particularly bothered.
There are some days that move things on ……and this was one of them !!!
