Shattered

We’ve had this lantern for many years. It used to have a lead acid battery and a mini fluorescent tube in it but the battery died and wouldn’t hold a charge and the tube went black and didn’t give much light. So I replaced the tube with an led lamp and installed a 12v nicad battery that came out of a caravan vacuum cleaner that was useless.
The lash up worked ok and the battery keeps the led lamp going for about 4 hours before needing a recharge. Today I knocked it off the bench in the utility room and the case shattered.
I can’t believe how many pieces it broke into, and have lots of gaps, but superglue has come to my rescue and I’m hoping gaffer tape might cover the gaps. The light still works.
