300/365 Monument !

300/365 27th Oct  Monument ! To Percy Pitcher a pioneering aviator who was killed when his plane crashed on this spot on 30th September 1899, thought to be the first Briton to die in an air crash, (Rather a dubious distinction me thinks) The monument is in the field at Stanford Hall Lutterworth site of this years  2023 English Hedgelaying Competition taking place 28th October if you are in the area should be a good day out with over 100 hedgelayers taking part. #nhlsnationals #hedgelaying
